The Dark Blues lie 14 points adrift at the bottom of the table but head into tonight's game boosted by last week's 5-1 win over First Division leaders Morton in the Scottish Cup.
However, Vigurs has urged County to focus on themselves at Dens Park.
He said: "We need to look at our positives that we've taken from the last couple of weeks - scoring goals and defending and passing the ball.
"Dundee are off the back of a good result in the cup last week so, even though they are struggling at the bottom, they've got some good players and we'll need to keep an eye on that.
"You are always going to get a lift from a good win like that, especially the strikers and midfielders scoring goals.
"I personally would take a lift and I think they will as well."
County boss Derek Adams on Thursday won the Scottish Premier League manager of the month award following his team's unbeaten start to 2013.
"Rightly so," Vigurs said. "He's got us playing some good football, playing more attacking football, which is more pleasing on the eye for the fans.
"Since the Hibs win on Boxing Day, we have turned a corner.
"We've picked up some vital points and now we're getting closer to the other teams up in the top six. We just need to keep pushing on."
