Adams and his team visit the Scottish champions for Sky Live's early evening coverage with County looking to build on an impressive fifth place finish from their debut season in the top flight.

The County boss is hoping Celtic's Champions League qualifier against Elfsborg on Wednesday may provide a distraction for the Glasgow club.

"I'm looking forward to it. It's fantastic. We're playing the first game of the season against Celtic," Adams said.

"It's the opening day of the season, the flag gets unfurled for the champions, and we provide a guard of honour for them and I think it's a fantastic way for Ross County to open the season.

"It's a very tricky game - the first game of the season always is. Celtic have got a Champions League game tomorrow night and then they've got us on Saturday. So, it's great that it's live on Sky and the players are all looking forward to it.

"Last season the target was to do as well as we can - it's the old cliché. We finished ahead of the likes of Aberdeen. Hearts, Hibs and Dundee United. These are clubs that would like to be above us next season.

"We'll give it a go. I think our first season was absolutely fantastic. Can we do the same? Well, we'll try, but there are a lot of teams trying to get into that top six as well."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
