And Adams felt his side possibly deserved more from the contest, having taken the lead through Melvin De Leeuw's glancing header, only for Adam Rooney to equalise in the 76th minute.

"I thought we were excellent tonight from start to finish," said Adams

"We passed the ball well and caused Aberdeen a lot of trouble. It was a terrific performance from us."

Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield had to pull off a string of impressive saves and Adams added: "He was terrific tonight, he was outstanding.

"He kept them in the game, he was man of the match. Overall, Langfield was outstanding, and he had a lot more work to do than Mark Brown, who also had a good game.

"We're just disappointed not to have won the game but we've obviously moved a place ahead in the league tonight and closed the gap on a number of teams."

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said: "I think both teams possibly have a case for saying they could have won the game. They had a couple of chances on the counter-attack

"Jamie's made a couple of saves, one in the first half and one in the second half. I felt we let our standards drop for a 20-minute period in the first half.

"From my point of view, apart from that 20-minute period, I was happy. The second half performance showed the tenacity of the team and determination of the team.

"When we play at pace and tempo we are difficult to handle. I thought at times Ross County were hanging in. We hit the woodwork three times and we had a few opportunities.

"It was a hard fought point, a point we deserved."

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
