The highly-rated striker continues to be heavily linked with a summer move to England, with various clubs having noted his exploits this season.

May has plundered 27 goals as St Johnstone have finished in the top-half of the Scottish Premiership and put themselves in a position to end the campaign with major silverware.

The securing of a first Scottish Cup success in the club's history is now the sole target for all of those at McDiarmid Park, though, with everything else put to one side.

That means May must wait before discussing his future, but he has no issue with that and has already expressed a desire to stay put.

May who still has 12 months left to run on his current deal said in the Daily Record: "There's nothing to discuss just now. We'll wait until the cup final is past.

"There's no point in having anything in your way when you've got that. You can only have one focus, and that's the final."

May says he is also prepared to be patient in his pursuit of senior international recognition with Scotland, with many surprised to see him overlooked for a friendly date with Nigeria on 28th May.

He added: "I didn't put too much thought into not being picked.

"I know we have an important game for the U21s, so that's what I'm thinking about just now.

"We need to get a result against Holland to have a chance of qualifying (for the European Championship)."

I

m not sure about this distance covered malarky, plus that stat comes with *since February attached to it, that's just 1 month. I mean I have 27 open cases I'm 'working on' at the moment but believe me others with 10 cases work harder than I do. I just got back from a pub lunch, scampi and chips (+4 pints) in case you were wondering.
