Anthony Stokes and Joe Ledley got the goals for Celtic with Esmael Goncalves netting for St Mirren, who were not able to repeat their January League Cup heroics against Neil Lennon's men.

"I was disappointed in the manner we lost the second goal. I thought we had got ourselves back in it at 1-1," he said.

"But we had a great response from the lads in the second half and once again we have run them very close and caused them problems."
