The PFA Scotland player-of-the-year candidate did his chances of landing the prize a world of good with a double against the Buddies at Easter Road in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Griffiths will end the season having netted seven times in his four encounters with Saints, his latest effort helping to deprive the Paisley men of the chance to confirm Scottish Premier League safety.

And with his total scoring tally now numbering 27 goals, Lennon insisted the Scotland forward, on loan in Edinburgh from Wolves, has done enough to earn individual recognition.

He said: "He's a very good player. I will be very surprised if he's not the worthy winner of the PFA Player-of-the-Year award."

Lennon's team required a win to kill off bottom team Dundee and maintain their own SPL place but their point in Leith, coupled with the Dark Blues' victory against Hearts at Dens Park, meant their battle against the drop would stumble on to next Saturday's meeting with the Jambos at Tynecastle.

"As a neutral it was a very good game," said Lennon, who has seen a 15-point cushion over Dundee reduced to just eight. "But in the first half, all I'll say is that we didn't turn up at all. Those are issues that we'll address internally.

"In the second half we got that bit of urgency along with some good tempo and from a position of being 1-0 down we got ourselves into a 3-2 lead and looking the more likely winner at that stage. But Hibs are a good side and once again they came back into it.

"I must congratulate Dundee and the fight that they are having. But nothing changes for us - we'll still go out there like every other game and our aim and ambition will be to win it."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
