Anna Signeul's side, who currently top their FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 qualifying group with a 100 per cent record after four matches, remain 11th on the European standings.

Earlier this month the Scots equalled their best finish in the annual Cyprus Women's Cup where they came fourth after remaining unbeaten in open play following a draw with France and victories over Holland and Australia before losing out on penalties to Korea Republic in the final placing match.

"Every little step we take is a fantastic achievement," said national coach Signeul. "We are hot on the heels of the biggest nations in women's football, most of whom have full-time professional players, so it becomes tougher each time to take these steps up.

"This shows just how valuable it is to get experience of playing against higher ranked teams at tournaments like the Cyprus Women's Cup, particularly after a good year like this one, when we drew with France and defeated The Netherlands and Australia.

"I'm particularly delighted for the players, but this is down to the hard work of everyone involved in the game in Scotland, and those who provide us with valuable support, such as the Scottish Government and Scottish Institute of Sport."

Scotland Women continue their quest for a place at the finals of next year's World Cup against Poland at Motherwell's Fir Park on Saturday, April 5.

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
