Hearts will face a repeat of last year's Scottish League Cup semi-final after being drawn against Inverness at the same stage of this year's competition.

In the other semi-final, the draw - conducted by former Scotland manager Craig Levein and SPFL Secretary Iain Blair at Hampden - paired Aberdeen against St Johnstone.

Gary Locke's Jambos defeated city rivals Hibernian 1-0 at Easter Road with Ryan Stevenson's winner on Wednesday night as they moved into the last four of the tournament.

Their reward is a rematch with Terry Butcher's Highlanders, who they beat 5-4 on penalties in neutral Leith last January before losing to St Mirren in the Hampden final.

Caley Thistle over came Dundee United with an 2-1 extra-time success on Tuesday night, while the Dons still overcame Motherwell with a 2-0 win despite seeing Joe Shaughnessy sent-off the following night.

Their Perth opponents clinched their spot in the semis by beating Championship side Morton with Gary McDonald's controversial injury-time winner.

The semi-final ties will be played on the weekend of February 1 and 2, at venue which have yet to be confirmed. The final is scheduled for Sunday, March 16.

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
