Emilson Cribari: Looking to help Rangers move swiftly back up the League ladder

The Brazilian defender arrived at Ibrox over the summer, penning a two-contract in the process.

He is yet to convince the Gers faithful that he is cut out for life in Scottish football, but spells in Serie A with the likes of Udinese and Lazio suggest he has the right pedigree.

Cribari believes he is progressing well in new surroundings and claims he is planning on playing a leading role in Rangers' efforts to bounce back through the Scottish Football League.

The 32-year-old centre-half told the Daily Record: "I am certainly thinking about staying longer than two years here.

"So far everything is going well, I'm playing all the games, we're first in the league and talking about moving up the divisions.

"I am very happy here and even playing in the Scottish fourth tier, the crowds are amazing. Having over 40,000 people watching you every week is very exciting and it's something I didn't expect.

"I had a proposal to go to Italy or return to Brazil and then, just before signing, I got a phone call from Rangers.

"I want to be remembered by the Rangers fans as a guy that helped them get back where they belong."
