Darren Randolph: Issued notice of complaint by SFA

Following the game on Saturday, Jambos boss John McGlynn said Randolph was lucky to stay on the pitch after appearing to kick Paterson's head in the 13th minute.

Compliance Officer Vincent Lunny has offered a fixed two-match suspension applicable across all competitions.

Randolph has until 3pm on Wednesday 28th November to respond to the notice.

A statement on the club's website read: "Should the player reject the fixed suspension offered, a Fast Track Tribunal will be convened on Thursday, 29th November 2012 to consider the complaint."

Following the game, Motherwell goalkeeping coach Gordon Marshall said Randolph was only trying to protect himself.

"First and foremost this is a difficult high ball to take out the air," said Marshall.

"Darren has his eye on the ball and he must see Paterson rushing in. But equally he must also see that Darren is favourite to collect the ball.

"By then Darren's decision has been made and he has to leave his line and go up - but he must protect himself too.

"When you're looking up in the air you're unsure of what is round about you, so you have to protect yourself at all times."
