Derek Adams: Happy with his team's display

County produced an impressive performance and ensured the points would be taken from Paisley with a Sproule double and a goal by his former Hibernian team-mate Sam Morrow after Richard Brittain's superb opener.

"Ivan was great, his pace and directness was something we required, he's also benefited Sam Marrow who played with him at Hibs," said Adams.

"I thought we controlled the game first-half and then it became a bit scrappy in the second-half as they came into it. However we have won 4-1 away from home."

Adams felt his decision to allow Brittain to retain the captain's armband was justified by the midfielder's display and his brilliant free-kick from 25 yards which broke the deadlock.

Brittain signed a pre-contract agreement with St Johnstone earlier in the week and will join the Perthshire club in the summer.

"Richard has been great for this football club and we will miss him when he goes, however he will miss Ross County more as it's a fantastic football club," added Adams.

"Richard knows that, he's been given a bit of stability at St Johnstone, but he won't get a better group of players than he has at Ross County."

I

worry about these types of conclusions on a teams brilliance when it was very clear that Argentina had 4 chances where they really should have scored and on chances alone then it would have been the more pragmatic Argentinians who would be the best in the world. I like the Germany team but this just shows that even with planning it relies on a great deal of luck and finding your opponents at just the right time.

e all know the British public don't have the patience to plan for 14 years. No chance. As soon as our young players don't win the world cup they get harrassed and abused to the point of mental breakdown. No, England likes to react to failure by sacking the manager and tearing up their best laid plans in favour of something shiny and new to keep the knee jerkers happy.
