Gary Harkins: Described by Racchi as one of the best players he has played with

As part of the deal, Harkins will not play against Kilmarnock at Dens Park on Sunday after rejoining Dundee on Friday night for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old midfielder had fallen out of favour at Rugby Park but just last week Killie manager Kenny Shiels described the former Blackburn Rovers and Partick Thistle midfielder as one of the best players in the Scottish Premier League.

Racchi said: "Gary is one of the most comfortable players on the ball I've ever seen.

"You wouldn't think that the first time you see him though, he looks like a drunk.

"He will hate me for saying that but I respect him as a player. He's the type who always catches my eye."

Kilmarnock travel east on Sunday to face a Dundee side currently stuck 11 points from safety at the bottom of the SPL.

The visitors, on the other hand, are just two points off the top six having played a game less than most of their rivals in the upper half of the division.

Racchi, though, believes those numbers do not tell the whole story.

He said: "This is our game in hand and hopefully we can go to Dens Park and get the three points.

"It is about time that we started climbing the table, it's about time we started closing in on the teams above us and put them under a bit of pressure, rather than them putting pressure on us.

"We're a better side than our league position suggests but we need to prove that."

Former Celtic midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim is available for selection for the Dens Park encounter after Kilmarnock confirmed they had finalised the Nigerian's work permit issues.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
