Jackie McNamara: Taking a look at Swedish defender Marcus Tornstrand

McNamara is currently short of defensive options after Gavin Gunning suffered a knee injury which it is feared will rule him out for the rest of the season.

Former Hammarby player Tornstrand has linked up with the club for a training stint and McNamara has challenged the 23-year-old to impress.

"We'll have a wee look at Marcus. I haven't seen all that much of him and the difficult thing is trying to get a game to have a look at him in," the Dundee United boss said in the Daily Record.

"But I know he has played for Sweden's Under 21s.

"The transfer window is shut just now so there's not a lot we can do but we'll have a look.

"With Gavin Gunning getting injured we are a bit short at the back to say the least."

Dundee united! Baaaaahahahaha

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!
