Samaras has produced his best form with the Hoops since Neil Lennon became manager at Celtic Park, and was particularly important during the team's Champions League campaign this season.

The Young Player of the Year Award was won by Victor Wanyama, who was the only Celtic representative in the PFA Scotland short-list last week - when he was nominated in the same category.

The Celtic squad also voted for their Player of the Year, and that award was won by goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Supporters chose Tony Watt's dramatic winner in the 2-1 victory over Barcelona in November as the Celtic Goal of the Season.

This year's recipient of the Special Recognition Award was former Celtic midfielder Stiliyan Petrov.

The Aston Villa ace has been fighting a battle with leukaemia since March 2012, and the award was presented to him at his home in England.

he 'where does it end' argument is an absurd one and completely misses the point of the Rooney Rule, which applies to all minorities. It doesn't force any team to appoint anyone, it merely requires them to interview at least one minority candidate.
