The defender still has a year left to run on his current deal, but is in the dark when it comes to his long-term future at Parkhead.

Wilson is planning to hold talks with Neil Lennon in an effort to find out where he stands, after two years in Glasgow.

He insists he is not overly concerned by the situation, with his focus locked on the 2013/14 campaign, but admits to being unsure how long his stay in Scotland will last.

Asked whether he expects to be at Celtic for a few more years, the 27-year-old told the Daily Record: "I don't know. I have this year left and then there is an option on my last year, which is down to the club.

"I'll play this season and see what happens.

"I'll speak to the gaffer throughout the season but it's not something I'm really thinking about. I just want to play football."

Speculation has suggested that Ipswich Town and Leicester City are keen on taking the former Nottingham Forest centre-half back to England.
