The French defender agreed to terminate his contract at Molineux so he could work on his fitness.

It has been a long road back from a serious knee injury, but the 26-year-old has returned to full fitness after a year on the sidelines and is ready to resume his career.

Celtic have offered him an opportunity to compete for domestic honours in Scotland, while also turning out in the UEFA Champions League, and Mouyokolo has jumped at the chance.

He is all set to put pen to paper at Parkhead, with the formalities of a move due to be finalised once he has passed a medical.

On his arrival in Scotland, Mouyokolo said in the Daily Record: "I cut my contract at Molineux so I could do rehab with my own doctor, physio and surgeon - which the club wouldn't let me do.

"That was a big risk but I think I made the right decision for my career.

"I have no pain in my knee and it feels okay, so I'm positive about the future."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
