The pair were sent to the stand by referee Alan Muir after Brown's celebration of the Jambos' winning goal sparked a confrontation with the Dons manager, whose side went down 2-1.

The Scottish Football Association website confirmed of Brown's charge: "Disciplinary Rule 203: Misconduct at a match by leaving the technical area in the absence of special circumstances and by adopting an aggressive attitude to a member of the opposing Team Staff."

On McInnes' transgressions, the statement added: "Misconduct at a match by adopting an aggressive attitude to a member of the opposing Team Staff."

The pair will attend a joint hearing on Thursday, September 12.
