The 21-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Uruguayan side Centro Atletico Fenix.

Mezquida, who began his career with Penarol, has experience of playing in Europe before after spells on loan in Norway with Brann and Lillestrom.

The former Uruguay youth international has now linked up with Celtic for training at the club's Lennoxtown base so Lennon and his coaching staff can cast an eye over him.

Lennon is still looking to bolster his attacking options after allowing Tony Watt to leave on loan to Lierse SK on transfer deadline day.

enteke is an absolute steal for £32.5m, he would get into any team in the world (except Barcelona) at the moment. I've seen many very good strikers in my 30+ years as a Villa fan. This guy is the best without question.
