Ally McCoist's men have a 100 per cent record so far in Scottish League One, but have started slowly in recent weeks, with all four goals in the 4-0 win at East Fife coming in the second half, while they conceded after just eight minutes against Brechin City.

Daily bagged a hat-trick in the win over East Fife, but he admits that displays in the opening stages of recent games have not been quite up to scratch.

"The manager just told us he wanted more at half time," said Daly

"We knew ourselves our first-half performance wasn't up to the standards we had set ourselves.

"So it's up to us to make sure we come out and start games better than we have being doing. But we didn't concede in the first half when we weren't at our best and give them something to hang on to."

Speaking of his hat-trick, Daly remained modest; opting to give credit to his team-mates for the service he received.

"It was great deliveries for my goals and I was just happy to be there to put them away," he said.

"In the first half, East Fife deserve credit because they didn't give us a lot of space and closed us down, but thankfully in the second half we managed to get a few goals and go on to win the game.

"East Fife had a good result last week against Dunfermline, which is a tough place to go, and were full of confidence. So we knew in the first half it would be difficult.

"We were frustrated in ourselves because we took so long to get it together, but the boys at the back held it together. We always knew once we got one we could go on and score a few more.

"We've got games coming thick and fast now so it will be a difficult period for us coming up with plenty of games and the squad is going to be utilised to the full."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
