May scored twice during the month - in the wins against Motherwell and Inverness - taking his season's tally to 11 and he has broken into the Scottish U21 side in the process.

He will be hoping to impress again when the juniors take on their Georgia counterparts in Paisley on Thursday night.

The Perth side also secured their place in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals during the month courtesy of a gritty 1-0 win at Greenock Morton.

Wright said: "It's a great boost for everyone at the club and although my name is on the award it speaks volumes for the efforts of the players, Callum, Alex and others at the club who help to make my job easier.

"It was a good month and the results we gained came against a backdrop of being without players like Frazer Wright and Steven MacLean for at least part of it."
