Edy Reja: Offered resignation

Lazio have confirmed that they have rejected coach Edy Reja's resignation.

Reja offered to resign after a reported row with director of sport Igli Tare but the club have revealed that they have turned down his offer to quit the club.

"Reja presented his resignation today at 14.00, but the club rejected it, so nothing has changed," announced director of communication Stefano Di Martino on Wednesday.

"When we return to Rome, everyone will make their evaluations. We give this announcement to clarify matters for the fans.

"Reja sent a written copy of his resignation, but Lazio turned it down. The coach is here now and we'll see what happens on Friday."

t's a bit sad to see Bosingwa leaving after he finally seemed to show some defensive ability when moved to centre back against Barca, but at least we'll be forced to pick up some sort of right fullback as cover. His new haircut seemed to decrease the prominence of the monobrow too.
