Juve celebrate Andrea Pirlo's goal

Juventus cruised to a 4-0 win over 10-man Roma to go three points clear of AC Milan at the top of Serie A on a perfect night for Antonio Conte's side at the Juventus Stadium.

Arturo Vidal scored twice in the first eight minutes as the Bianconeri responded well to Milan's surprise home draw with Bologna earlier on Sunday.

The home side were assisted by a controversial penalty decision which saw Maarten Stekelenburg sent off in the 26th minute, and Andrea Pirlo on the rebound after seeing his spot-kick saved.

Claudio Marchisio completed the scoring in the 52nd minute to round-off a comprehensive win which, regardless of the red card, was never in any doubt.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored in the last minute to rescue a 1-1 draw for 10-man AC Milan against Bologna.

The Rossoneri looked to be heading for just their third defeat at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium this season after Gaston Ramirez had put Bologna in front in the 26th minute.

Ibrahimovic looked to have equalised in the 58th minute only for the referee to disallow the goal for a controversial offside decision.

The hosts then had defender Daniele Bonera sent off for a second yellow card eight minutes from time but Ibrahimovic earned his team a vital draw.

Substitute Valeri Bojinov struck at the death as relegation-threatened Lecce came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw at Lazio.

Francesco Matuzalem put the home side ahead in the 82nd minute after both teams had previously been denied by the crossbar.

Bojinov then came to the visitors' rescue by scoring the equaliser seconds from time.

The result kept Lazio in third place and holding the last Champions League qualifying spot with five games still to play.

Lecce remain in 18th position, one point behind Genoa and safety.

Genoa's match against Siena was suspended for 45 minutes after a fan disturbance that saw the home players intimidated in the middle of the pitch and forced to remove their shirts by angry supporters.

The game eventually restarted after goalkeeper Giuseppe Sculli's emotional intervention, with Siena resuming 4-0 in front and going on to secure an important 4-1 victory in their battle against relegation.

Franco Brienza was on target twice for Siena, with Mattia Destro - on loan from Genoa - and Luigi Giorgi also scoring to take Giuseppe Sannino's side seven points clear of the bottom three.

Siena's Cristiano Del Grosso put through his own net but it was scant consolation for Genoa.

Fiorentina had a penalty saved as Inter Milan held on for a goalless draw in Tuscany.

Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar brought down Fiorentina's Andrea Lazzari in the 69th minute but then kept out Adem Ljajic's spot-kick.

The outcome leaves Inter unbeaten under coach Andrea Stramaccioni, who replaced Claudio Ranieri last month, and helps keep them in the Champions League picture.

Inter are seventh in the standings and six points behind Lazio.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, are struggling just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Cesena staved off relegation for a few days at least by drawing 2-2 at home to Palermo.

The Serie A basement boys turned the game around in the space of three minutes just before the half-hour mark as goals from Mario Santana and Vincenzo Rennella put them 2-1 in front.

But Matias Silvestre equalised on the stroke of half-time to earn a point for Palermo, who had gone in front through Nicolas Bertolo.

The draw left Cesena 14 points from safety with five games to go.

On Saturday, Napoli kept up their pursuit of a place in next season's Champions League by beating relegation-threatened Novara 2-0.

Edinson Cavani and Paolo Cannavaro scored the goals in a one-sided Serie A game which was all over by half time.

Udinese missed the chance to pile the pressure on third-placed Lazio as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Chievo

It was also an emotional evening for Udinese, taking to the field for the first time since the death of Piermario Morosini - their midfielder who had been out on loan at Livorno.

Parma took a stride away from the Serie A relegation zone thanks to a 3-0 win over Cagliari, who sit just three points above the bottom three with five games remaining.

Sebastian Giovinco was the orchestrator of Parma's win with the opening goal in the 24th minute and a hand in all of his side's attacks.

The home team's second and third goals both came from the penalty spot, with Sergio Floccari scoring the first in the 73rd minute and Stefano Okaka wrapping up victory in the last minute.

Cagliari could have no complaints about the defeat, or the margin of it, after failing to test Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante even once on a disappointing afternoon at the Stadio Tardini.

Catania boosted their hopes of clinching Europa League football next season with a 2-0 victory over Atalanta.

Alejandro Gomez set the hosts on their way with the opening goal after half an hour and Felipe Seymour made sure of the points five minutes from time.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
