Antonio Conte: Sitting out his ban

Filippi, overseeing team and media duties while Conte sits out his ban for not reporting match-fixing, saluted the Juve players for implementing Conte's plans to perfection at Juventus Stadium.

"The team played a splendid game. We worked a lot during the week with Conte and this is the result of his work," Filippi said. "This win belongs to him.

"We fought and saw off a team who will do important things this season."

The victory, which saw Juve open up a three-point lead at the summit, was wrapped up within the opening 20 minutes with goals from Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Alessandro Matri putting the Old Lady in the driving seat.

Pablo Osvaldo pulled a goal back from the penalty spot for the Giallorossi, but Zdenek Zeman's men were unable to find a way back into the game and Sebastian Giovinco added a late fourth to leave Roma eight points behind the Bianconeri in the table.

Filippi insisted after the game that every player would be given a chance to impress at some point - including on-loan Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner, who has made only one appearance so far for the Italian champions.

"We've got an excellent pool of strikers at our disposal and we're happy with their performances," he said. "The manager will rotate them based on what he sees during the week. Everyone will have the opportunity to play.

"Nicklas Bendtner will eventually have his chance."

adly this is inevitable. No club outside the top 4/5 can hang on to anyone who shows that kind of talent anymore. Might be best for them to get as much as they can now while his stock is high and start again. On the plus side lads, Grant Holt is still available.
