Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has drafted Atalanta's Federico Peluso into his squad for Wednesday's friendly against France following the withdrawal of Domenico Criscito.

Zenit St Petersburg defender Criscito has been unable to join up with Prandelli's 25-man selection for the match at Parma's Stadio Ennio Tardini due to an unspecified injury problem.

Peluso, 28, was handed his first international cap in August's friendly defeat to England. He has won three caps for his country so far and scored in September's 2-0 victory over Malta.

There was a further setback this afternoon as Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo became the second player to leave the Italy squad due to injury.

The 26-year-old was forced to return to Trigoria for treatment after aggravating an underlying ankle injury during yesterday's Rome derby, which Lazio won 3-2.

Prandelli is yet to name a replacement for the Argentina-born forward, who has scored three goals in six appearances for the Azzurri.
