Roma bounced back from their Serie A humbling at the hands of Juventus to move into the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Rudi Garcia's men lost their top-of-the-table showdown with Juve 3-0 on Sunday but beat Sampdoria 1-0 to progress.

Vassilis Torosidis' first goal of the season in the sixth minute was enough to get the job done, with Garcia's decision to rest the likes of Gervinho and Francesco Totti carrying no penalty.

The night's other game saw Udinese beat Inter Milan 1-0.

Maicosuel's first strike of the season secured it 13 minutes before the break.
