Medical tests undertaken following the incident in Turin revealed a sprain to the Montenegrin's right knee and a contusion to his shin but ruled out ligament damage.

A statement published on the Italian champions' official website said Vucinic, who came close to joining Inter Milan in January, could expect to miss several weeks of action.

Home league games against Chievo and Torino - and the Europa League visit of Trabzonspor on February 20 - are therefore likely to elude the 30-year-old.
