The full-back has made over 90 appearances for Newcastle since his 2011 move from Inter Milan and has repeatedly been tipped to go back to Serie A.

However, Santon has regularly dismissed the speculation and he is unaware of the latest rumours of interest from Fiorentina.

“Personally, I don’t know anything,” Santon is quoted by Firenzeviola.it when asked about the Fiorentina speculation.

“My agent hasn’t let me know anything about any rumour on the transfer market, so I don’t really know where this rumour comes from.”

He added: “I am very well at Newcastle, I found my space and other than that I have my whole family with me.

“I have two more years of my contract and for the moment I don’t intend to change.

“Actually, I have a wish: if I ever encounter any offers from other leagues, I would still hope to stay in the Premier League.”
