Midfielder Norris is one of a number of players expected to leave Fratton Park this summer as the club slashes its wage bill following administration.

Wednesday boss Dave Jones is understood to be keen to recruit the 31-year-old following his side's promotion back to the Championship.

But Pompey administrator Trevor Birch told The News: "We have yet to hear anything from Sheffield Wednesday over David Norris.

"I'm not sure what the situation is with that. That's how football seems to work."
