Dave Jones: Delighted with win over Bolton

The former Mali international headed Lewis Buxton's long cross home in the first half and the visitors held on to record their third consecutive win.

With Peterborough beating Wolves, Wednesday remain two points above the npower Championship relegation zone, five points shy of Wanderers.

"It was a perfect away performance," said Jones "The last five minutes we probably panicked a bit, but in the first half we got them on the back foot and we worked them hard.

"We limited them and stopped them attacking and we caught them on the counter attack.

"At times we rode our luck but we put our bodies on the line for the cause, which is all you can ask for.

"It was a game which players love playing in and we shut every avenue they had down for the win.

"Mamady's goal was probably a perfect centre-forward's goal. He deserved it because he's worked his socks off for a number of years to get back fit again.

"All he's needed is to play games and he's now getting these games and he's slowly getting used to playing again."

Jones was also pleased with the way in which Michail Antonio led the forward line.

"Antonio's just a great outlet who pushes their defenders wide and he puts them under pressure," Jones added.

"Forwards create the tempo for everyone else in the team and he's just going to get better and better in his career."
