Jones was charged after being sent to the stands near the end of the Owls' 3-1 win, when a challenge by Danny Pugh on Brighton's Inigo Calderon sparked an ugly fracas involving both benches.

He admitted the charge and, following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, was fined £2,000 on top of the ban, which is suspended until the end of the 2013-14 season.

The ban will only be invoked should a proven breach of FA Rule E3 occur before the end of that period.

Brighton first team coach Charlie Oatway was charged for his part in the same incident but the committee approved the FA's proposal to withdraw the charge and no further action was taken against him.
