New date for Southampton game

Chelsea's postponed Premier League game against Southampton at Stamford Bridge has been provisionally rearranged for Wednesday 16 January (7.45pm ko).

The original fixture was due to be played last month but it had to be rescheduled due to Chelsea's involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

However, the two sides are due to meet in the FA Cup third round at St Mary's on Saturday and a potential replay would take precedence over the league game.

If required the replay would be played on the same day - Wednesday 16 January - instead.

The Premier League game at Stamford Bridge would then have to be rearranged again for later in the season.
