Gaston Ramirez: Uruguay international is happy at Southampton

The attacker became Southampton's record signing last summer when he joined from Bologna and he has scored three goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

AC Milan and Fiorentina have both been linked with a move for the 22-year-old following reports that Ramirez has failed to settle at St Mary's.

Though Milan subsequently denied plans to make a January bid, reports in Italy claim the Rossoneri are interested in signing Ramirez for next season.

Ramirez has tried to put an end to speculation about his future, however, after confirming he is enjoying life in England with Nigel Adkins' side.

"I have had a very good time during these first five months at Southampton and I feel very happy being in England," said Ramirez in the South American media.

"I am enjoying being in this country. I like it very much that it is calm and the way that we live here."
