Gaston Ramirez: Had to be stretchered off after suffering injury at Sunderland

Saints drew 2-2 at Sunderland on Saturday in a game which saw both Ramirez and Lovren having to be stretchered off late on.

Pochettino admitted afterwards he was worried about the pair and the Saints boss may have to bolster.

The St Mary's boss is hoping to meet with club owner and new non-executive chairman Katharina Liebherr over the coming week.

He told the Southern Daily Echo: "It's clear that we need to analyse many things with the chairwoman.

"We will see what happens in the transfer window and we also need to analyse what's happened with these two players who were injured.

"Overall I can't answer so many questions in such a short period of time. I also have the same questions."

The injuries came at the end of a tough week for Southampton after the resignation of executive chairman Nicola Cortese, which fuelled talk about the long-term future of Pochettino.

The Argentine added: "After Thursday there wasn't that much time to think about anything else aside from focusing on the game at Sunderland.

"We took the flight up to Sunderland and there wasn't much time to think about anything else."

e was right to leave, but not just because of the money City were coming into. If I remember rightly he had a reasonable amount of chances to shine at City, but he never passed the bloody ball. Loads of aimless dribbles and 40 yard shots and not much else. I would say that if he had learnt to be a bit more of a team player he may have done better at City.
