Thanks for that Tim. I have to admit that watching it at the time the mind was officially boggling, wasn't quite sure if we had accidentally imbibed something unexpected (we were in Amsterdam) or if this was just a truly woeful refereeing decision. It's easy to see where the Madrid and Barce press get their conspiracy theories from, some of the decisions in the match were truly bewildering.

Personally, I thought the first was harsh but a normal yellow in Spain where the refereeing is ridiculous. And don't get me started on the second. It's not just about ball to hand, etc, but consistency. Lass for Rayo more or less caught the ball in a chest control. Foul, no yellow which would have been his second. 16 red cards in la Liga this season for this offense and no manager or player seem to know what the directives are from the refs...

Anybody else watch the Real Madrid match? Do you think the Ramos sending off was deserved, or is there an element of a bad reputation at play here? I get the strong impression Ramos is not the most intelligent of players, great header for the goal though, despite being wrestled at the time!
