The East End Park side host Kilmarnock on Tuesday evening knowing a win would move them above Hibernian in the table.
The former Everton stopper played an important role as Dunfermline stunned Kilmarnock 3-0 at Rugby Park last month and he is hoping for a similar result on home soil.
"It's getting close to the end of the season and currently we are still bottom of the table, we have to start playing well and put a run of results together," said Turner.
"It always looks good when you look at the table and you see that you are off the bottom. It would give everyone a big boost to do just that and the game with Kilmarnock presents a big opportunity for us."
Turner departed Preston last month to join up with Jim McIntyre's side on loan until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed an extended run of first-team appearances but admits he has not been totally satisfied with his own form.
"Luckily I was given the chance by the gaffer to come here and play," he said.
"To be honest I haven't been entirely pleased with my performances so far, but I know what I can do and if I can get a run of games under my belt I can show my best form.
"At the moment I am not looking beyond the next game, at the end of the season who knows what might happen, but it's a long way away."
As well as the addition of Turner during the January transfer window, Dunfermline also bolstered their squad with the capture of Mark Kerr as well as the loan signings of Jordan McMillan and Kyle Hutton.
Turner is hopeful the new names can make a big impact on Dunfermline's battle against the drop.
"It's nice to have some fresh faces around the place and even better that the new guys are very good footballers," he said.
"We are looking forward to seeing what they can do."
