Michael Owen: Opened his Stoke account

It was the former England international's first goal since October 2011 and his first Premier League goal since the final day of the 2010/11 season.

Pulis would like the 33-year-old and Swansea target Kenwyne Jones to remain with the Potters, although he has told them they need to make their intentions known to him should they wish to leave.

"I'm pleased for Michael. He's come on and scored a goal. He looks fitter and sharper. We're trying to arrange a game for him in the week. He just needs games," he said. "He's a good player to come off the bench if you need a goal.

"If Michael wanted to leave I've an office that I work in and he can bang on the door and say he wants to leave.

"It's the same with Kenwyne. Kenwyne has never come into my office and said he wants to leave the football club."
