Blues have finally published their long-awaited financial results for the periods ending June 2011, December 2011 and June 2012, amid which one paragraph drew particular attention from some quarters.

It spoke of two players being sold during the recent January transfer window with the deals due to be completed in the summer, but did not reveal their identify.

Yet, with supporters fearing two mystery players were due to depart St Andrew's this summer, Birmingham have confirmed the agreements relate to those of goalkeeper Jack Butland and striker Jake Jervis, who joined Stoke and Turkish side Elazigspor respectively, but whose deals will not be fully completed until August.

A statement on Birmingham's official website read: "Following the publication of Birmingham International Holdings Ltd's accounts for June 2011, December 2011 and June 2012, the board of Birmingham City Football Club wishes to clarify a particular matter raised within the parent company's recent accounts.

"Drawing attention to the following paragraph: 'Subsequent to the end of the reporting period, the football registrations of two players were contracted for sale during the winter transfer window in January 2013 and the said transfers are expected to completed in August 2013. The terms of the agreement are confidential between the two parties and are therefore not disclosed'.

"The board can confirm that this relates to the sales of Jack Butland and Jake Jervis and outstanding instalments due to be paid on specified future dates. The complete breakdown of both transfers will remain confidential as previously agreed by all parties and as per usual."

England goalkeeper Butland signed for Stoke for a fee understood to be in the region of £3.5million but has been loaned back to Blues until the end of this season, while striker Jervis moved to Turkey for a fee of around £40,000.

Birmingham also rejected serious interest in the likes of Marlon King, Curtis Davies and Chris Burke during the January transfer window.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
