The Potters are prepared to acknowledge that they consider both to be good players, but are reluctant to speculate on their futures while they remain contracted to Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion respectively.

Mark Hughes remains in the market ahead of Monday's transfer deadline, having wrapped up a loan deal for Liverpool's Oussama Assaidi, and movement both in and out of the Britannia Stadium is possible.

Bowen, though, will not be drawn into a debate regarding who might be coming in, with it up to the club to decide on their targets and make approaches when they feel the time is right.

He told The Sentinel on the Hoilett and Odemwingie rumours: "We know Junior from QPR and he's a top player, but I can't say more than that because he's a QPR player.

"The same with Peter. But one thing I would say is that he's got a good record in the Premier League and is a proven Premier League player who's had a difficult time over the last eight months."

Bowen is prepared to discuss Assaidi, with a season-long agreement having already been put in place, and he expects the Morocco international to be a shrewd acquisition.

He said: "He's a very good player who was coveted by a number of clubs.

"We've done our homework on him and he seems to be a player Brendan Rodgers thinks highly of.

"He's a different option for us. He's very pacey and very direct. He likes getting at players and committing players when he's on the ball."
