Odemingie, who has not played for his country since 2012, has been revitalised since joining the Potters in January.
The 32-year-old scored his fourth goal for his new club by netting the winner in Saturday's 1-0 Premier League win over Hull.
Odemwingie had previously expressed hope of a return to the international fold and has now made positive steps after past disagreements.
He told the Stoke website: "I've been in touch with the manager and the federation as well.
"It's looking positive now and we're mending bridges.
"If I can help the team it's never a question of me not being there. I'm always available so we'll see what happens."
