Palacios has flown to Doha to hold talks with Qatar Sport Club, with Stoke willing to offload the Honduras international.

The 29-year-old has struggled to establish himself at Stoke since joining the club from Tottenham in 2011 with injuries hampering his form.

The summer arrival of Steve Sidwell from Fulham has increased competition for places in Stoke's midfield and has pushed Palacios further down the pecking order at the Britannia Stadium.

A statement on the Qatar Sport Club's official Twitter account read: "The Honduran national team player and Stoke City's Wilson Palacios to sign in Doha with Qatar Sport Club."
