Feyenoord are facing a battle to prise teenage striker Marko Arnautovic away from FC Twente.
The Rotterdam club are understood to have had a 3.5million euros bid for the 19-year-old striker rejected, but Twente are bracing themselves for an improved offer.
However, former England boss Steve McClaren is thought to have been impressed by the Austrian during his first few weeks with the Enschede club and is keen to keep him on board.
McClaren will hope the lure of Champions League football will persuade Arnautovic to stay at the Grolsch Veste Stadium, particularly with Congolese frontman N'Kufo facing a three-match European ban.
But even if that does not prove a sufficient selling point, Feyenoord would have to significantly increase their offer with Twente valuing their player at nearer 5million euros.
