PSV Eindhoven coach Sef Vergoossen has urged his side to focus on this weekend's game at NEC Nijmegen even though some club officials appear convinced the Eredivisie title is already in the bag.
PSV go into Saturday's game at NEC knowing victory at the McDOS Goffertstadion, coupled with defeat for second-placed Ajax at Heerenveen, will see them crowned champions for the fourth year in succession.
Confidence is clearly high at the Philips Stadion as the club have already announced plans for their title celebrations.
Vergoossen, however, is refusing to get carried away.
He said: "We are not there yet. We have four games left in which to get the job done."
Ajax, who are seven points behind PSV with four games remaining, have already started to plan for next season.
Technical director Martin van Geel has revealed that in future they will not allow key players to leave on the eve of a new campaign.
Ajax's preparations for the 2007/08 season were severely disrupted when playmaker Wesley Sneijder joined Real Madrid in August.
Van Geel said: "We have spoken internally about this and agreed that we will never let someone surprise us again.
"From the first day of pre-season we don't want to let any of the key players go anymore."
Even though the title race appears to be close to completion, there is still plenty to play for elsewhere.
Ajax, Heerenveen, Feyenoord and NAC Breda currently occupy the Champions League play-off spots although FC Twente are just two points behind fifth-placed NAC.
On Sunday, Feyenoord go to NAC while Twente visit FC Utrecht.
FC Groningen look likely to qualify for the end-of-season UEFA Cup play-offs and will look to strengthen their hold on seventh place when they open the weekend action on Friday night at De Graafschap.
De Graafschap sit just one place above the relegation play-off spots but will drop into the bottom three if they lose and either Willem II or VVV Venlo win.
Willem go to Sparta Rotterdam while VVV take on rock-bottom Excelsior.
Saturday's other game sees Heracles host Roda JC while, on Sunday, Vitesse Arnhem visit AZ Alkmaar.
