John Terry says it is "unbelievable" that anyone would still question Avram Grant after he led Chelsea to their first Champions League final.
The Israeli is still only getting the most begrudging of praise for his part in Chelsea's march to Moscow and for the fact that the Blues are taking the title race down to the final two games.
Chelsea captain Terry said after the win over Liverpool in the semi-final, when asked whether Grant had done enough to keep his job: "I would have thought so. It's for the club to make that decision, but things have been very good and results don't lie.
"To get to where we are and to still question the manager's the role at the club is unbelievable. You look at the League table since the manager has taken over and he's been very good. All we can do once we're out there and once the manager is in charge, is our best.
"That's what we've done to get to the Champions League Final. I think he deserves respect.
"The club has never got to a Champions League Final before."
But owner Roman Abramovich missed both games because of business commitments in Russia.

"Stan to land the Chelsea job...is that man missing something major here? That job is only availablto the top 10 proven managers in Europe....Stan did not win jack...it's as simple as that...from No2 at Leeds to the top job at Chelsea is a big climb mate...and Stan for all his supposed potentail, ain't that mercurial. Grant has done more than enough....he took over after Jose walked out....show me another manager who has done something similar after taking over after season start? Roy Keane maybe...albeit on at a lower level...potential to be defined at this level, means past achievemnet with other teams....Stan to say it again has won nothing mate....being honest and I don't mean to be harsh, but I had to swallow the laughter here when I read your comment at work...."

"Duffin - the only useful thing that Stan could have brought to the Bridge last night would have been his great big umbrella. You've been at the mushrooms again, haven't you?"

"Fair enough Duffin but what you have to accept is his stint with Ireland is being viewed as an abject failure and until he proves himself as a coach over a sustained period of time he'd hardly be a genuine contender for one of the top jobs in English football. I hope he does well and I hope he does prove to be a great coach but the jury is out and I'd have to say justifiably so."

"Shakes I was making a serious point there. As an avid Leeds supporter and as someone who has inside knowledge of the goings on at Leeds at present, Stan is said to be looking for a new challenge. Surely this man cannot be overlooked should Chelsea come knocking. He was one of the youngest ever International managers and I am confident he would have taken us to South Africa in 2010. Leeds have been unbeaten since Stan has gone in as the number 2. According to my sources he takes care of all the training, team selections and motivational speeches. He has all his Uefa badges and is one of the brightest managerial talents out there at present. I just hope leeds can hold on to him."

"Spot on IrishBlue. I wonder if some of the comments on here have come from anyone who has seen how poorly - over the season thus far - Chelsea have played. The 1-1 home draw with Wigan is but one example. We could easily have lost the previous home match against Middlesborough, scraped 0-0 draws with both Liverpool and Fulham when we barely created a scoring chance, scored 4 goals at home against Villa and just scraped a draw .............. shall I continue? Avram, who seems like a nice fella, is completely out of his depth. He has bought two players: Ivanovic (who has never played for the 1st team) and Anelka (who he always starts on the bench). Yet he persists in starting with Kalou who - over the season has been poor. I accept he was better than usual last night but he can't tackle, gets knocked off the ball too easily, can't dribble half as well as he thinks he can and is not sharp in the box. So, if JT thinks that us long-suffering, loyal supporters should just sit there and accept crap performances week in, week out, he's gotta be joking. Overall last night and on Saturday against the Mancs, the Blue boys did well. But they have to play like that most of the time to avoid being criticised!"

"You know I personally had and still have my doubts about avram especially after mourinho's supreme management...But iv realised it really doesn't matter...I support the Club not the manager...Ppl come and go...Our team doesn't solely rely on the manager, like arsenal...Who without wenger would have been absoulute rubbish..After all their main central defender was chelsea's thrid choice...So Who cares? We beat arsenal, manU and liverpool in the last 3-4weeks...And we are def winning in MOSCOW...(a.k.a stamford bridge 2)..Vll be unbeaten there as well...Thanks 2 roman...hahaha"

"LOL!! Duffin, being Irish also, that's some funny suff there about Stan. Fair play to you. I hope your tongue didn't burst a hole in the side of your face when you wrote that."

"Point fingers at Chelsea fans all you like but the criticism is warranted. He has gotten lucky at key times and that is why we are where we are. His track record is average at best."

"The criticism that Avram has been subjected to is disgraceful but you have to look at the chelsea fans for most of it. 2 weeks ago against Wigan they gave him awful abuse and the fans are the happiest in europe at the moment. Talk about fickle. I heard fom the grapevine that Steve Staunton will be looking for a no.1 role in the summer. If anything happens to Avram this man has to be the no.1 choice. He did a wonderful job with Ireland, ok results were not faboulous but he had a 4 year plan and should have been given time. What he has done with Leeds is a minor miracle since he has been there. He is one of the best coaches in Europe. Rgds Brian Duffin. Bray Ireland"

"Avram Grant has done a great job this season. To take over from the special one must have been difficult for him. I am a Chelsea supporter since 1970 and I think ALL Chelsea fans from all over the world should give this man the credit and support he deserves. Jose was great but this man could be even better.. We WILL beat Man U. in Russia. I have no doubt about that."
