Chelsea captain John Terry is adamant he will be fit for the Champions League final after dislocating his elbow in the 1-1 draw with Bolton at Stamford Bridge.
The point ended the Blues' hopes of snatching the Barclays Premier League title from Manchester United, who won 2-0 at Wigan to finish the season two points clear.
Substitute Andriy Shevchenko put Chelsea in front in the 62nd minute but an added-time equaliser from Matthew Taylor meant the league crown stayed at Old Trafford.
But Chelsea's afternoon was rocked by Terry's injury and the England defender is now set to rest his elbow in the hope of being fit to lead the side out against United in Moscow on May 21.
Terry, with his arm in a sling, was first out of the tunnel to thank the fans for their support at the end of the game.
He is understood to have suffered a partial dislocation of the elbow but is confident he will be fit.
"It popped back in before I got to hospital and I need three or four days rest but I should be fit for Moscow, fingers crossed," said Terry.
"I caught the second half of United's game when I got back from hospital and flicked between the two.
"When Ryan Giggs put the second one in for United, I knew that was it but to be fair they have been very good this year.
"We have lots of respect for them. They have been fantastic this season and deserve to be at the top of table where they are.
"We dropped points at crucial stages and that has probably cost us, although that should take nothing away from United, who have been brilliant.
"But Moscow is a different story and we're aiming to be ready for that one now.
"The European Cup is one we are missing and the one we all want now."
Coach Avram Grant will leave it to the medical department to decide if Terry will be fit enough to play.
"John did not break his elbow," said Grant. "But we need to wait and see. We will know if he is fit for the final in a few days.
"I don't want to see the day when John Terry is not confident of being fit. It is good news that he didn't break his elbow. He is strong enough to recover but we will wait and see.
"We will take a decision nearer the time. We need to see that he is fit to play.
"It is firstly the decision of the medical department to see if he can play or not but there is no need to rush - we have time."
Grant was also concerned about the fitness of Didier Drogba. The striker got a kick on his left knee 10 minutes from time against Bolton and the Chelsea boss admitted he was struggling.
"He could not come off because we had used all our substitutes," said Grant. "He did everything to finish the game. It does not look so good but we need wait again."
All eyes are now focused on the showdown with United in Moscow and Grant insists his side are not going there to play a part in a double triumph for Sir Alex Ferguson's men.
"Getting to the final was our target," said Grant.
"When you get there, you want to win it. We want to win it. We wanted to win the league also but it was never, for one minute, in our hands.
"We have finished the league and now we are waiting for a game we have dreamed about. We don't want to go the final to be part of it, we want to win it."
