Shrewsbury will receive around £500,000 if Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart makes his England debut against USA later this month.
The 21-year-old moved to Eastlands in 2006 from the League Two side and one of the clauses in the deal will be triggered if he caps off his breakthrough season by playing for his country.
England boss Fabio Capello has Hart, David James and Chris Kirkland to choose from for the friendly at Wembley on May 28 and the trip to Trinidad and Tobago for the clash on the following Sunday.
Hart is still in the squad for the Under-21s against Wales later this week, along with David Wheater, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Theo Walcott, who are all also in the seniors.
It is understood that Capello is not planning to attend the friendly at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground and general manager Franco Baldini is expected to monitor Stuart Pearce's youngsters.
Walcott has helped fire the Under-21s towards the play-offs to reach the European Championships next year and his club manager, Arsene Wenger, has seen a growing maturity this season.
"I think he started as a promising young player and he finished it as a guy who can fight for a regular place in the side," said the Arsenal manager.
"The next step for him is to be a player who can produce regular performances and efficiency. I am very hopeful he can be that.
"Sometimes he can be too much 'in and out' of the game still but we have seen when he is in, he is completely in now."
While Walcott, Agbonlahor and Wheater have been included in previous Capello squads, surprise faces this time around included Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone and Blackburn full-back Stephen Warnock.
Warnock had booked an end-of-season holiday but was happy to cancel his plans when he was informed of his call-up by team-mate David Bentley.
"I actually got a phone call from Bents on the way home from Birmingham saying 'cancel your holidays you're going away with the England squad'," he said on BBC Radio Lancashire.
"So that was the first I heard of it. It was a bit of a surprise to be honest.
"I knew that if I came to Blackburn and played week-in, week-out I'd give myself a chance. That's turned out to be the right decision."
West Ham striker Dean Ashton was also rewarded after three goals in his final three appearances of the season.
"I hadn't really thought about England because I've only recently got myself back into the team and feel like I'm playing well," he said.
Meanwhile, Fraizer Campbell has withdrawn from the Under-21 squad to concentrate on play-off preparations with Hull.
Goalkeeper Tom Heaton will stay with Manchester United ahead of the Champions League final, while Coventry's Danny Fox is out through injury.
