SHINAWATRA PUTS ENTIRE CITY SQUAD UP FOR SALE

Posted 16/05/08 08:42

Not content with getting rid of their best manager for years, Thaksin Shinawatra has reportedly put the entire Manchester City squad up for sale.

Despite having to undergo the humiliation of representing his boss on a tour to Thailand, Sven Goran Eriksson is expected to be sacked in the coming weeks, and now The Daily Express reports that Shinawatra is so unhappy with City's performances this season that he wants a wholesale clear-out at Eastlands.

The paper claims that Shinawatra wants rid of every player on City's books - including star performers and huge assets Micah Richards, Michael Johnson and Joe Hart.

Shinawatra has reportedly sent a letter to each member of the City sqaud expressing his feelings, and wants to start next season with a whole new squad to go with his new manager.

According to The Express, the latest shambolic developments have prompted a distraught City chairman John Wardle to apologise to the squad for selling the club to Shinawatra in the first place.

The former Thai prime minister won't be short of interested parties for his players. Richard Dunne is expected to move to Newcastle for around £5million, while Liverpool and Arsenal are thought to be interested in Johnson, while Hart is reportedly a target for Tottenham.

Richards would most likely command the highest fee, with Chelsea and Manchester United both apparently interested.

"You all appear to have missed a crucial phrase at the top.......'the daily express'....nuff said!"

"Thailand did it without blood, but I think any coup for getting rid of Shinawatra this time is going to be quite bloody indeed."

"Dunne for £5m! Nice 1."

"tut tut, you cant make a lady-of-the-night a house-wife so who does a ex thailand president think he is??????? He's been watching to much spanish football me's thinks. sven is a gr8 manager and has a team who in the next few years could prob finish above LFC (sori pool fans but its true), abit of patience and they'd be laughing. a-well richards to the gunners (he would if we wern't so tight)"

kksbandwarmy

"Haha, this guy is hilarious. Surely, despite clearly being a clueless moron, when Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal start bidding for their players even he should realise they're good enough for city. It'd be great if they get relegated next season."

elgee

"What!!! Mind you, having had time to reflect, it might just take an act of lunacy to shake the Premiership up - including, players and their exorbitant wage claims and often questionable attitude; clubs who charge far too much for a ticket; foreign owners who see a quick buck, or need an ego massage. Sell the team - why not asset strip and have done with it? Oh, and before I forget, lets introduce a strictly 'buy-abroad-policy-because-they-are-cheaper' and really scupper the chances of any up and coming hopeful? "

Beckham52

"oh man..wht a loser. These politicians dont knw a thing about football and start doing blah blah. If this article is true and all the players move out, city shall be playing championship division during 2009/2010 season."

MGTCMELI

"If this is true then they need to be doin some quick business because they are startin the european campaign in July"

footyman22

"This is very funny to hear.....especially for us from the other side of the City..."End of season clearance sale" where the entire stock is up for grabs...Thak(s**t) (S**t)awatra thou art truly "the hilarious one" ..Hope he'd also distribute freebies (Micah maybe)??"
