Hull City boss Phil Brown reportedly wants to sign out-of-favour Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras on a season-long loan deal
Greek star Samaras has returned to Eastlands after spending the end of last season on loan with Scottish champions Celtic.
But the 23-year-old does not figure in new boss Mark Hughes' plans following the arrival of £19million signing Jo and the possible capture of Ronaldinho.
Samaras had expressed an interest in returning to Parkhead, but is now more likely to stay in England as Brown wants him to play a part in the Tigers' bid for Premier League survival.
The Hull boss wants to sign him on loan, and is also trying to wrap up the signing of Samaras' former Eastlands team-mate Geovanni, who is a free agent after quitting City at the expiry of his one-year deal.
The 27-year-old has been in talks with former club Cruzeiro in his homeland but Brown is confident of luring him to the KC Stadium.
