Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito would prefer to join Genoa than move to long-time admirers Everton.
Everton were alerted to Milito's availability after his club were relegated from Spain's Primer Liga but the Argentine revealed his ideal summer switch would be to Serie A.
"I'd like to return to Genoa," Milito told Diario Equipo. "It would be beautiful, although I don't know if that possibility exists.
"I have to see what Zaragoza want, it all depends on them.
"For my part, I am at the club's disposal and I have to return for the first day of training next Monday. Everything else is in the hands of my agent."
Milito's representative Fernando Hidalgo confirmed this week that he has not yet received an 'interesting' offer for the player though Everton are expected to step up their interest if they receive a suitable offer for Andy Johnson.
Wigan and Sunderland are thought to have been in contact with the Blues and are prepared to pay in the region of £10m for the England international, who has seen his ooportunities limited at Goodison Park in the last 12 months.
