Reports in Spain claim that Robinho's agent is in talks with Chelsea, suggesting that Real Madrid are confident of sealing a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Marca claims that the Wagner Riberio, the Brazilian forward's representative, has flown to London for talks with Chelsea sporting director Frank Arneson over a move to England.
According to the paper, while Real need cash to finance a potential move for Cristiano Ronaldo, they will not accept less that 36 million Euros (around £28.7million) for Robinho.
It is more than likely that this move hinges entirely on whether or not Ronaldo does move to Madrid. Real have stated that they are not interested in making a large amount of signings, nor releasing many players, preferring to keep the nucleus of their title winning side together.
Therefore, if these reports are accurate it suggests that Real are confident of signing Ronaldo.
Indeed, Real president Ramon Calderon reportedly told Wimbledon champion Rafa Nadal that the deal was as good as done, despite his repeated public proclaimations that he did not wish to talk about the Portuguese winger.

"Don't compare Torres to Robinho thats just ridiculous! Robinho plays widers than Torres, and is not a Striker! If we know world football Madrid have Ruud Van The Man for that! Robinho is a simply awesome player i even saw him play for Santos! Infact he and Diego both played together forming a great partnership for Santos. If i am correct Chelsea have been linked with Diego as well, what a possibility! So liverpool fans get educated, there are other players apart from gerrard and torres. As for Robinho great signing if it happens. maybe he will bring his condom collection with him (the informed will understand that)"

"Robinho can be brilliant on his day and for those who watched La Liga last year, he really was the key man for large parts of the season. Probably not worth 28 million but lets be honest money is no object to Chelsea and Robinho would be a great addition to their squad."

"This entire article is speculation.... "Marca claims..", "It is more than likely.." "..if these reports are accurate it suggests.." "Ramon Calderon reportedly told.." etc, etc. A classic case of 2 + 2 = 893 ie a load of made-up bollox."

"I don't think he'll have a major impact on the game, he's too lightweight"

"ALL YOU PPL HERE ARE SERIOUSLY UNDER ESTIMATING ROBINHO'S CAPABILITIES...IF YOU'VE SEEN HIM PLAY FOR REAL LAST SEASON..YOU'D KNOW HOW PIVOTAL HE WAS IN THEIR TITLE WINNING TEAM..ADMITTED THAT BARCA HANDED OVER THE LIGA CROWN ON THE PLATTER BY PLAYIN TOTAL SH**E FOOTY BUT THE BRAZILIAN IS A CLASS ACT.. YOU ALL MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE IT ALL BACK IF HE DOES SOMETHING BIG THIS SEASON..WHICH HE WILL IF SIGNED.. AS A UNITED FAN I WOULD'NT HAVE COMPLAINED IF HE WERE A PART OF THE RONALDO DEAL..."

"Gremily, fair enough you can't see him 'doing a Torres' and scoring 30-odd goals in his first season - but nobody predicted that of Torres either, he'd never had a high goal-scoring record in Spain (and never played in the Champions League), but people weren't saying he was over-priced!"

"Jahrek, good point; I mean I know inflation is a f++king pain in the ass, but this means Robinho is worth the same as Torres was last year???? Can't see him getting 30+ goals in a debut premiership campaign, far more likely he gets a bad tackle around October and sits in the physio's office till late spring-time when the sun comes out again...Bolton in December is no beach!! "An overated player for an over zealous coach. I don't think he will suit the Premier league. Very few Brazilians have."

"Just stop it , you are embarrasing yourselves. The words Marca and accurate in the same article for a start. You can write whatever tripe you like , Calderon can be allowed to flout all the rules of transfer dealings by FIFA , it wont make a blind bit of difference. The only authentic quotes have come from David Gill and United god knows how many times now , Ronaldo is under contract to Man Utd FACT , Ronaldo is not for sale FACT.End of. "

"Somehow I don't think Chelsea will play the waiting game, Real either sell or Chelsea will look elsewhere. Not going to wait on Ronaldo and Utd to decide. "
