Birmingham have opened talks with AZ Alkmaar over a potential loan deal for midfielder Kemy Agustien, according to reports.
Agustien struggled for regular first-team football at the DSB Stadion last season, and AZ are rumoured to be happy to allow the 21-year-old to leave on loan in order to gain experience.
Birmingham are thought to be among a number of Championship clubs interested in landing Agustien, however it is claimed that manager Alex McLeish is leading the race to secure a deal.
Agustien is highly-rated in his native Holland, and is believed to be keen to seek a transfer to England.
